EXHIBITION OF PAINTINGS BY DAMIAN VAN DER VELDEN
INSPIRED BY JIN SHIN JYUTSU
This series of new works by Damian van der Velden explores her current preoccupation with the balance between tense graphic line and strong fields of colour. The paintings exist as figurative studies on the one hand and metaphysical encounters on the other. Partially inspired by Jin Shin Jyutsu, the ancient oriental art of healing, which promotes or aims to heal energy imbalances in the body through touch applied with fingers and hands. This series of works will be exhibited in it's entirety for the first time, in Copenhagen.

Damian van der Velden graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague in 1997. Primarily a painter, throughout her career she has worked in different disciplines from Installations through to large-scale sand sculptures. She has exhibited her paintings widely throughout the The Netherlands and Belgium, and her sculptural works have been exhibited in China, USA, Denmark and Germany.
